The local observance is being coordinated by MSU's Student Dietetic Association, an organization of the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Pictured at the signing are MSU Student Dietetic Association members and food science, nutrition and health promotion majors, standing from left, senior Amanda Yanvary of Wooldbridge, Virginia, junior Allie Cowles of Denmark, Tennessee, senior Austin Vaughn of Hernando, senior Molly Stevenson of Marietta, Georgia, senior Julie Mabry of Vicksburg and sophomore Emily Knight of Herndon, Virginia.

Initiated in 1973 by the Illinois-based Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the National Nutrition Month campaign works to encourage and promote healthy eating habits and physical activity.
