Mark Crenshaw

Dr. Mark Crenshaw (Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Sciences [Nutrition] 2002) began his career with the MSU Extension Service in 1985 and retired as an Extension professor in 2018. Crenshaw earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1977 and upon graduation accepted a position at the University of Nebraska North Platte Experiment Station as a swine manager. There, he completed his master's degree in agriculture, focusing on animal nutrition for both his master's and doctorate degrees.

Throughout his career, Dr. Crenshaw has worked closely with pork producers and allied industries across Mississippi. He has been actively involved with the 4-H Youth Livestock Program and other 4-H swine-related projects. Dr. Crenshaw also supports the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences teaching program, serving as a guest lecturer and participating in several graduate student committees.

Early in his career, he served as an area swine specialist in 30 counties across Northeast Mississippi and provided leadership for the former Wiley L. Bean Swine Demonstration Unit located at the MAFES Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station.

Friends and associates of Dr. Crenshaw established the Dr. Mark Crenshaw Endowed Scholarship. He and his wife, Janet, have three children and nine grandchildren and live in Pontotoc, Mississippi.
