Ag and Bio Engineering

The new Agricultural and Biological Engineering building is now complete. The department has moved to its new, state of the art location.

Ballew

Ballew is our meat laboratory where students learn about grading and judging meat carcasses and cuts and the study of packing house operation. Laboratories are taught here in addition to classes like Performance Analysis of Meat Animals.

Bendenbaugh

Bedenbaugh is used for research by the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion.


Bost

Bost is home to Dr. Vance Watson, the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Vice President of Agriculture, Forestry and Vet Medicine. Also housed in Bost are Dr. Lynn Reinschmiedt, Associate Dean, and Dr. Walter Taylor, Assistant Dean. Mississippi Extension and 4-H also call Bost home.


Clay Lyle

The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology is located in the Clay Lyle building. Students taking classes here will be registered in classes such as Field Crop Insects, Forest Pest Management, General Entomology, and Introduction to Insects.


Dorman Hall

Both the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences share Dorman Hall. You will find a large variety of classes taught in this building considering there are four majors between the two departments. Golf Course Operations, Molecular Genetics, Turf Management, Plant Tissue Culture and a variety of laboratories are taught in Dorman Hall.


Herzer

The Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion will be found in Herzer. MSU cheese, milk and ice cream are produced and sold in Herzer. Majors in Food Science and Nutrition will be taking classes such as New Food Product Development, Child Health Nutrition, and The Foodservice System.


Hill

Poultry Science- Located near sorority row is host to our feathered friends. Classes include laboratories, Poultry Nutrition, Avian Reproduction, and Avian Anatomy. Our Poultry Science major offers concentrations in Business, Management, Manufacturing and Pre-Veterinary Medicine.


Howell

Howell is the former home of the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. You will find many laboratories for Biological Engineering and Agricultural Engineering Technology and Business here. Also classes such as Biomechanics and Biomedical Materials as well as Land Surveying and Agricultural Mechanics are taught here.


Lloyd Ricks

Lloyd Ricks is shared by the Department of Agricultural Economics and the School of Human Sciences. Classes range from the Art of Parenting in Human Development and Family Studies Concentration to Visual Design and Dress in Apparel Textiles and Merchandising to Introduction to Food and Resource Economics in the Ag, Food and Resource Economics Major to Leadership Development in Agriculture and Life Sciences. Lloyd Ricks is set for renovations beginning in the summer of 2008


Moore Hall

In Moore Hall you will find the School of Human Sciences historic costume lab where you can get lost in time. If you are concentrating in Apparel Production and Design much time will be spent here taking classes like Apparel Design and Fashion Retailing. Also taught here is the Science of Food Prep.


University Florist

Lynette McDougald and Dr. Jim DelPrince will welcome you at the University Florist where Retail Floristry Management students have the opportunity to work in a full operational floral shop. In the lab connecting the University Florist students take classes in Floral Design.


University Greenhouses

Our very own greenhouses are located right behind Dorman Hall for Agronomy and Horticulture students to learn and take classes. Greenhouse Management, Plant Science and Plant Materials are taught in the University Greenhouses by a variety of professors.


Wise Center

Within the Wise Center you will find the School of Veterinary Medicine, but you will also find the Animal and Dairy Sciences Department on the fourth floor. Classes taught in the Wise Center include Small Livestock Production, Physiology of Lactation Production, Animal Nutrition and Animal Breeding.
