Mariah Baird

Mariah Baird is a Senior majoring in both Horticulture with a concentration in Floral Management and Landscape Architecture from Starkville, MS. She enjoys these majors because they both offer wonderful experiences and opportunities throughout the programs. Since she loves learning through hands-on methods, these majors are perfect. She is involved in many on-campus organizations including the Student Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers and the Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. She is open to any opportunity that crosses her path, and would love to travel with her professions.

Mariah has had the opportunity to learn through working at The University Florist on campus, and was able to further her Floral Management education at a summer internship at a high end floral shop in Nashville, TN in 2007. For the past year Mariah has been a part of the Cooperative Education Program which has enabled her to attend a year long internship at an international Landscape Architecture firm. This experience has allowed her to see what the world of Landscape Architecture is about, and opened her eyes to many more aspects of the business than she thought. Both of her internships along with her continuing employment at The University Florist has strengthened her love for her majors.
